Precision Hunter Rifle Match 1000yd complex
October 8 @ 8:00 am - 2:00 pm
October 8th
The goal of this Precision Hunter format is to have fun, use our hunting rifles, magnum rifles, and maybe prepare for an upcoming hunt. This is essentially a match where the shooter will have to deal with natural terrain and obstacles rather than barricades, with shorter courses of fire. There will be only one stage with unknown targets or unknown distances. The targets, for the most part, will simulate animals or vital zone-sized targets. There will be a few ‘Skill Stages,’ similar to our regular match stages, e.g., KYL rack.
The total round count will be a maximum of 50, and the maximum on any stage will be 6. There will be a longer par time (150 seconds) to allow for assessment and setup on the clock. Your regular match rifle is welcome and really shouldn’t be much of a disadvantage, especially if it’s of reasonable ‘hunting weight.’ Try to play by the spirit of the game or ‘train like you fight.’
